Jordana described her wedding as simple elegance and lots of fun.

At Callaway Vineyard & Winery, simple elegance started with the venue. The vineyard framed the ceremony, and the barrel room gave the reception its character. Jordana and Greg kept the flowers focused on the ceremony.

The Venue

Callaway Vineyard & Winery sits in Temecula, California, about an hour southeast of Los Angeles. Rows of vines stretch out behind the ceremony lawn. Cocktail hour takes place upstairs, surrounded by windows and views of the property. Downstairs, the barrel room is lined floor to ceiling with oak barrels, with chandeliers overhead.

Jordana and Greg visited six or seven venues in one week. Callaway was the first one they toured together.

"When I saw the pictures on the website I was immediately obsessed. When I walked in I was like, oh my gosh, this is amazing." -Jordana

She wanted a venue that was already beautiful on its own, and that idea shaped the floral design for the whole day:

"You could have a really empty space and just fill it with flowers, or you could have a space that already has the beauty of its own right, and then you can just add in." -Jordana

Simple Elegance

Jordana was direct about where flowers fit into her plans.

"I'm not a huge flower person, but I wanted the flowers to really be beautiful and accentuate the space." -Jordana

The vineyard's greenery and the barrel room's warm oak helped her pick a palette. Blush and white roses could stand out against the green outside and the brown tones inside without competing with either setting.

"When I went there and there was a lot of greenery, I was like, oh okay, we can do simple flowers that pop, because there's just a lot of green around. And so that's why we chose the blush and the whites." -Jordana

Jordana and Greg put their floral budget into the ceremony: Jordana's bridal bouquet, eight bridesmaid bouquets, flower girl petals, petal aisle decor, and two Classic Wildflower Arch Clusters on an eight-foot circular arch.

There were no reception centerpieces. The barrel room already had plenty of texture and scale, so the two arch clusters moved from the ceremony to the sweetheart table after dinner began.

Jordana's final floral total was $2,059 for 165 guests.

"I didn't even think that I would be able to afford one [arch cluster], let alone two." -Jordana

The flower girl's petals included dried flowers from a bouquet Greg gave Jordana while they were dating.

The Flowers

Jordana found Poppy through Instagram shortly after getting engaged. She had one concern from the beginning:

"I know that flowers cost so much money for a wedding." -Jordana

Seeing item-level pricing before she committed gave her a clear starting point. She also booked early enough to get a free-bouquet promotion, and she used it on a larger bridal bouquet than she'd planned.

Fresh flowers mattered to Jordana after the wedding too. She had her bouquet pressed and dried after the honeymoon, and her bridesmaids took theirs home.

"I knew that if I went with fake flowers, I wouldn't be able to have that keepsake in the future." -Jordana

Planning also overlapped with another big project.

"We also were buying a house at the same time as wedding planning, so it was a very stressful season. So I would say that our florals was the least stressful part of the whole process." -Jordana

The Reveal

Jordana saw the flowers after her first look, when she returned to the bridal suite with her bridesmaids. The bouquets looked fuller in person than they had on screen.

"I was like shocked. They were so beautiful in person… I was like, oh my gosh, these are mine." -Jordana

One of Jordana's bridesmaids works as a wedding planner and coordinator. Her reaction was simple:

"These are really beautiful, these are very special."

Her Advice

Jordana planned her wedding in nine months while buying a house. Her advice for other couples:

"It will be very stressful, but it's worth it. Choose the things that are most important to you and don't waver on those." -Jordana
