Study Buddies to Soulmates: Taylor + Tylor's Tropical Miami Celebration

Featured Wedding

Taylor knew exactly one thing when she started planning her wedding: she wanted a calla lily bouquet. Before the venue, before the guest list, before any of the decisions that would come later—the flowers were already decided. "The simplicity of the calla lily is the most 'me' detail of the entire day," she says. "I'm minimalistic and love to lean into the beauty of being where I am in the moment. For some reason, the calla lily has always meant that to me. It's simple and completely content on its own."

That quiet confidence runs through everything about Taylor and Tylor's June wedding at Gran Paraiso Gardens in Miami—a celebration that felt easy, intentional, and unmistakably them.

From Casebooks to Forever

The two met on the first day of law school. They started as study buddies, became best friends, and eventually fell in love—a progression that Taylor describes with the same straightforward clarity she brings to everything else.

When Tylor proposed at Bethany Beach in Delaware, he surprised Taylor by coordinating with her family to have them waiting when she arrived. The two were doing long distance at the time, which made the moment even more unexpected. "I was in complete shock to see my family there," Taylor remembers.

Finding Home in Miami

Growing up in Hawaii shaped Taylor's vision for the wedding long before she realized it. When she discovered Gran Paraiso Gardens, something clicked. "The venue was tropical, elegant, and clean—all of which remind me of Hawaii," she explains. The lush gardens and sophisticated architecture gave her exactly what she'd been searching for: a setting that felt both natural and refined.

Rather than imposing a design scheme onto the space, Taylor worked with what was already there. "Since the venue was everything I wanted, I started to design all the details around the venue to play off the natural beauty and sophistication that it already had." She stuck with greens and whites, letting the tropical landscape do the heavy lifting while her design choices added polish without competing for attention.

The overall vibe? "Fun and effortless," Taylor says. "I wanted the day to feel easy and fun. I didn't want to feel any pressure or for anyone around me to feel that either."

The Flowers That Brought It All Together

For Taylor, flowers weren't just decoration—they were what made the wedding feel like a wedding. "I can't imagine not having flowers at my wedding," she says. "The first thing I knew once I started planning is that I wanted a calla lily bouquet, and Poppy had just that."

The calla lilies did exactly what Taylor hoped: they added elegance without fuss, their sculptural lines complementing the venue's clean aesthetic. The green and white palette echoed through every arrangement, creating visual continuity from ceremony to reception while letting the tropical surroundings remain the star.

There's something poetic about Taylor's choice. Calla lilies don't need much to make a statement—they're striking in their simplicity, confident without being showy. Much like the bride who carried them.

A Moment Worth Reliving

Ask Taylor what she'd relive from the day, and she doesn't hesitate: the first look. "Him seeing me and me seeing him for the first time on the best day of our lives is something I'll never forget," she says. "Knowing that you're about to step into forever together is so special."

It's a sentiment that captures what made this wedding work. Taylor and Tylor didn't need elaborate details or over-the-top moments. They needed each other, their people, and a setting that felt right. Everything else—the calla lilies, the tropical backdrop, the easy summer energy—just helped tell the story of who they already were.
