Alicia planned weddings before she designed flowers for them, and ran her own Indianapolis florist and event decor company, Amelia Marie Florals.
She started in hospitality and moved into full-service event planning, coordinating every vendor on a couple’s wedding timeline. Along the way she found that the part she loved most was the flowers, and the moment a couple’s vision came together in them.
So in 2017 she started Amelia Marie Florals, designing fresh and faux flowers and decor for weddings around Indianapolis. Local wedding photographers came to recommend her as a go-to LGBTQ+ friendly florist.
Having run whole wedding days, she plans flowers with the timeline, the venue’s rules and the rest of the decor in mind. Her favorite flower is the lisianthus, for how much it can do.
